Hunting 29th December

All looks well for tomorrow, please note that the meet is at 1:30pm and parking for horseboxes will be available at Six Roads Farm

Boxing Day Hunt

Everything is looking good for the hunt on Boxing Day. The going should be quite good, and there is enough jumping to suit everybody.

Please enter the manor by the gate closest to St Ouen's Church if you are on horseback, car followers please use the West Gate where parking is available.

On behalf of the Masters, have a very Merry Christmas and we hope to see you out on Boxing Day!

Hunting 20th December

Due to the appalling ground conditions we have had to cancel tomorrow's hunt.

On a brighter note, the forecast for Boxing Day is looking good and we will try and go unless it is actually raining at the time.

Please keep an eye on the website for details of the hunt on the 29th which will be finalised shortly.

Breakfast is on, hunting is off

With a lot of rain overnight and more due today, we have decided to cancel tomorrow's hunt. The good news is that breakfast is still being served at Rozelle campsite tomorrow morning at 10:30am (last orders at 11:15). Please bring family and friends, the more the merrier!

Hunt Dec 10th is on

Some light rain expected this morning, but not enough hopefully to stop us.

Good old St Ouen, takes more than a little bit of rain to stop us hunting there!

Hunt 6th December

All looking good for tomorrow, going should be spot on and this is a classic St Ouen line. Parking for horse boxes is available at the Pony Club cross country course.

Chance of light rain in the middle of the day but we are good to go!

Hopefully we do not get a lot of rain overnight.. Forecast is not brilliant, most of the line will be OK but there are a couple of fields we'll have to look out for. Decision before 9am tomorrow

Ground conditions are pretty bad and I am expecting more rain. The forecast is more promising for Saturday.

Looking good so far for tomorrow, light rain we will get away with heavy rain we won't, so here's hoping! Marcel Kermin is one of our most generous hosts and we have picked a half decent line so don't miss this one

Thanks to the rain overnight we are forced to cancel once more. Fingers crossed for Saturday!

Hunting 12th November

Say your prayers before you go to sleep tonight, we will need all the help we can get to be able to hunt tomorrow. A final decision will be made tomorrow morning as soon as possible

Hunt 8th November is off Bacon is on

Due to the wet weather hunting has been cancelled. Bacon rolls and coffee will be served at Hatherleigh from 10am for a small donation to the hunt. All welcome. Hounds will go on gentle exercise at 9:15am for any who wish to join but please be aware there is limited box parking at Hatherleigh.

Hunting 8th November

The weather is not being kind to us this week, and I think we are going to struggle to get out on Saturday. We have picked a wet weather line so if the forecast is not as bad as it seems we will hope to do something.

If the hunt is cancelled, Bacon rolls and coffee will be served in Hatherleigh kitchen for a small donation from 10am.
A decision will be made as soon as possible.

Hunting 5th November

Hunting is cancelled today - unfortunately the forecast has let us down and this morning's rain has made the ground too wet.

Hunting is on today but please be aware that there is very little parking at the meet and no cars are allowed in the field. It's a great line hope to see you all there

Hunting 25th October

Rain has stopped so I think we'll be able to go out and play tomorrow, looking at the going this morning it could take a fair bit of rain. It is a fantastic galloping line with, if you have the time, the most amazing views. The line is not that long but will definitely put a smile on your face! Parking for horseboxes is available in front of and behind the manor. This is a fabulous meet and I hope as many of you as possible will be able to make it. If there are any changes we will let you know by 8 am tomorrow.

Hunt cancelled

Due to impending rain, today's hunt has been cancelled

Hunt doubtful 16th October

I keep looking at the forecast hoping that it will change, but at the moment there is a very strong chance of rain at lunchtime tomorrow. I will continue to check every forecast I can find and make a final decision tonight about whether or not we go, and whilst the going will not be a problem, it is not good PR for us to be seen out in the rain!

Opening Meet 11th October

Morning all, line is all set for tomorrow and look as though it will be a good one. There is a bit of rain around but I don't think it will affect us too much and hopefully we won't get as wet as we did last week!

Final cubbing line

Well we finally got wet today as the heavens opened towards the end of the hunt. Our timing was almost perfect and we would have missed the rain if only we hadn't had so many fallers....

A big thank you to all those who were out for co-operating with some delicate areas of crops that we had to pass through. We need to keep the farmers happy!

I hope we will see you all next week for the opening meet.

JDH agm

A reminder to all members of the Jersey Drag Hunt of the annual general meeting that takes place at 8pm at Devil's Hole pub tomorrow (Wednesday). This is your chance to learn a little more about your club and have your say on any agenda items, followed by a beer afterwards. Please do your best to attend.

Another hot day

A well deserved feed for hounds, they had to work for that today. It certainly seemed a lot hotter this week. Last night's rain helped with  scenting.

Cubbing 20th September

The line is now picked and the rain we had yesterday has softened the top nicely. We had 40 of you out last week, let's hope we see even more of you tomorrow!

Cubbing 13th. September

As the line is now picked, I can tell you that the kill is at La Hougue Mauger which is near La Mare Vineyard. Please remember that if you park your box on private land ensure you have the owners permission! Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
